What is shookout

shookout is a digital products marketplace where creators sell files directly to buyers. Every product is an instant digital download — design templates, Notion systems, Discord assets, game add-ons, wallpapers, sewing patterns, and more. There are no physical shipments. Once you purchase, your files are available immediately.

Product categories

Products are organised into categories accessible from the navigation bar. Each category has subcategories for more precise browsing.

Navigation and key areas

The top navigation bar is consistent across all pages and gives quick access to everything on the platform:

• shookout logo — returns to the homepage
• Search bar — search by keyword, product name, or seller
• Browse — opens the full category menu
• Category tabs — direct links to top-level categories
• (Add product) — opens the product submission wizard (sellers only)
• Notifications — bell icon for platform activity
• Messages — direct message inbox
• Support — opens a menu with links to Help Center, Legal, and Create Ticket
• Store Manager — icon for sellers to access their store dashboard (see below)
• Cart — current cart contents
• Avatar — opens the user menu

User menu

Clicking your avatar opens the user menu with quick links to:

• Account Credit — your current credit balance
• My Purchases — your download library at /purchases
• My Library — personal file storage at /library for images, PDFs, and other files you upload for reuse in posts, messages, and product descriptions (1 GB storage, expanded with Shookout Pro)
• Quick Replies — your saved message templates at /quick-replies. Insert them instantly when replying to messages or support tickets. Shookout Pro feature.
• My Account — opens the Account Settings modal
• Store Manager — opens the Store Manager modal (sellers only)

Store Manager

Store Manager is a modal window available to sellers — the central hub for managing everything related to your store. Open it from the navigation bar or user menu.

Browsing and finding products

Homepage sections

The homepage surfaces products across curated sections:

• Latest Additions — the most recently published products
• Most Popular — top products by sales and downloads
• Trending — products gaining traction right now
• Latest Updates — products with recently published new versions

Search

Use the search bar at the top of every page to find products by keyword, seller name, or category. Results can be refined with filters and sorted using the options below.

Sort options

Inside any category or search results, use the sort bar to reorder listings:

• Newest — most recently published first
• Recently Updated — products with the most recent version updates
• Top Rated — highest buyer ratings first
• Most Downloaded — most downloaded overall
• Best Sellers — highest number of sales
• Price — sort by price low to high or high to low

Highlights

Each category also has three quick filters in the mega menu:

• Just Released — newest products in this category
• Top Rated — highest rated in this category
• Trending Now — most downloaded in this category

Buying a product

Each product card shows the product name, seller, price, and rating. The action button changes depending on the product and your status:

Accepted payment methods: Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex via Stripe), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Account Credit.

Your purchases and downloads

After purchasing, your files are available in My Purchases at shookout.com/purchases. Access it any time from the user menu (avatar → My Purchases).

• No download limit — re-download any file at any time
• When a seller publishes an update, the new version appears in My Purchases automatically at no extra charge
• If a product has multiple files, a dialog lets you choose which ones to download

Account Credit

Account Credit is an internal balance applied automatically at checkout. You get Account Credit from:

• Gift cards — redeem a shookout gift card at /credit
• Direct credit — credit added to your account manually
• Seller earnings — product sales are credited to your Account Credit, from which you request a payout

Flash Sales

Flash Sales are time-limited discount events created by verified sellers. When a Flash Sale is active on a product, the discounted price is shown with a Flash Sale badge and a countdown showing when the sale ends.

Discount types

• Percent off — e.g. −25% from the regular price
• Fixed amount off — e.g. −$5.00 from the regular price

For buyers

The discounted price is applied automatically at checkout — no coupon code needed. Discounts apply for the duration of the sale window set by the seller. Once the sale ends, the regular price is restored.

For sellers

Flash Sales are created in Store Manager → Manage Flash Sales. Only available to verified sellers. You set the sale title, target products, discount type, discount value, and the sale window (start date, optional end date).

Selling on shookout

Anyone can become a seller. Register with a Store account (or upgrade from Member) and submit your first product using the button in the navigation bar.

The 5-step submission wizard

1. Product Info — title, category, description
2. Upload & Version — files, version number, requirements
3. Media — preview images and screenshots
4. Pricing & Access — Free, One-time, or Subscription; licence templates
5. Support — documentation and support channel

Managing your store

Everything seller-related is managed from Store Manager — a modal accessible from the navigation bar. It includes your sales overview, verification status, balance & payouts, flash sales, product management, customers, team members, and store terms.

Earnings and payouts

Platform commission is 5% per sale, plus Stripe payment processing (2.9% + $0.30). Currency conversion applies at 2.5% when buyer and seller currencies differ. Earnings are credited to Account Credit. Payouts are made via PayPal and require completed seller verification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is registration required to browse?

No — anyone can browse and view product pages without an account. An account is required to purchase or download.

Are products available immediately after purchase?

Yes. Files are available the moment payment is confirmed, in My Purchases and on the product page itself.

Can I re-download a product I already bought?

Yes — there is no download limit. Go to My Purchases and click Download.

What happens when a seller updates a product?

The new version appears in My Purchases automatically. You are not charged again.

What currency are prices in?

All prices are in USD. Your payment provider handles conversion if your account uses a different currency.

How do Flash Sales work for buyers?

The discounted price is shown automatically on the product page and at checkout. No coupon needed — the sale price applies for the duration set by the seller.

Can I sell and buy on the same account?

Yes. A Store account can both purchase products and sell them.

Is there a fee to register or list products?

No. Registration is free. shookout charges a 5% commission only on completed sales.
