Product Licenses
How licensing works on shookout — what you can do with products you purchase
How licensing works on shookout
Each seller on shookout sets their own license terms for their products. These terms are defined in the seller's Store Terms and on the individual product page. Always read the license before purchasing — especially if you plan to use the product commercially.
ℹ️ Where to find the license: Open the product page and look for the License or Store Terms section. If a seller has set custom terms, they appear there.
What a license typically covers
- Permitted uses — what you are allowed to do with the product: personal use, commercial use, use in client work, etc.
- Restrictions — what is prohibited: typically reselling the source files, redistributing the product, or removing attribution.
- Number of uses — whether the license covers one project or multiple end products.
- Transferability — whether you can transfer or sublicense the product to another person or entity.
License Keys
Some products — especially software, plugins, and applications — use License Keys for activation. If a seller has enabled License Keys, you will receive a unique key after purchase that you enter in the software to activate it.
- License keys appear in My Purchases next to the product
- Each key has a set number of activations defined by the seller
- If you need to deactivate a key (e.g. when changing devices), contact the seller
- Lost your key? Find it anytime in My Purchases
What you generally cannot do
- Resell or redistribute the product files as your own
- Share your purchase with others who haven't paid
- Use beyond the scope specified in the seller's license
- Remove copyright notices or attribution if required
Violating a product license can result in legal claims from the rights holder and account suspension on shookout. Always check the license terms before use in commercial projects.
