Password Recovery

How to reset your shookout password using the Forgot your password? link on the sign-in page

How to reset your password

If you have forgotten your password, you can request a reset link at any time from the sign-in page. The process takes about 2 minutes.

  1. Go to the shookout sign-in page and click Forgot your password?
  2. Enter the email address associated with your account
  3. Click Recover Password
  4. Check your inbox for an email from shookout — it contains a recovery link or code
  5. Click the link in the email (or enter the code if prompted)
  6. Enter your new password and confirm it
  7. Click Save — your password is updated and you are signed in

ℹ️ The recovery email is sent to the address you registered with. If you no longer have access to that email, see the section below.

If the email hasn't arrived

The reset email usually arrives within a few minutes. If you don't see it:

  • Check your Spam or Junk folder — recovery emails sometimes end up there
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address — try the request again if needed
  • Check that the email address is the one you registered with. If you have multiple email accounts, try each one
  • Wait a few minutes and check again — occasional delays can occur
  • Add noreply@shookout.com to your contacts to prevent future emails from being filtered

Tip: The recovery link is valid for a limited time. If it has expired, return to the sign-in page and request a new one using Forgot your password?

Choosing a strong new password

When setting your new password, use something that is both secure and memorable:

  • At least 8 characters
  • A mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Avoid using the same password you use on other sites
  • Do not use easily guessable information (name, birthday, etc.)

A password manager (such as Bitwarden or 1Password) can generate and store a strong unique password for you automatically.

No longer have access to your email?

If you cannot access the email address linked to your account, the automated reset process will not work. Contact support directly:

  1. Open a support ticket via the Help Desk
  2. Explain that you have lost access to your registered email
  3. Provide as much account information as possible to help verify your identity — your display name, approximate registration date, any purchases you remember making
  4. The support team will review your request and respond within 24–48 hours

For security reasons, the team cannot bypass email verification without proper identity confirmation. Be prepared to provide account details to verify ownership.

After resetting your password

Once your password is reset, it is a good time to review your account security:

  • Enable 2FA — adds a second verification step so your account stays protected even if your password is compromised again. Set it up in My Account → Password & 2FA
  • Review active sessions — if you suspect someone else accessed your account, go to My Account → Devices and end any sessions you do not recognise
  • Change your password on other sites — if you used the same password elsewhere, change it on those services too

Frequently Asked Questions

I clicked Forgot your password? but received nothing. What should I do?

Check your Spam folder first. If the email is not there, wait a few minutes and try again — make sure you are entering the exact email address you registered with.

How long is the recovery link valid?

The link expires after a short period. If it no longer works, return to the sign-in page and click Forgot your password? again to request a new one.

Can I reuse my old password?

You can enter the same password if you wish — there is no restriction preventing it. However, if your account was compromised, we strongly recommend choosing a new one.

Will resetting my password sign me out of other devices?

Yes — for security, all active sessions are ended when you reset your password. You will need to sign in again on each device.

I reset my password but I still can't log in. What's wrong?

Double-check that you are using the new password and the correct email address. If the problem persists, contact support via the Help Desk.

What if I remember my password and just want to change it?

Go to My Account → Password & 2FA → Change Password. You will need to enter your current password to confirm the change.

Can't get in?
